Your Family is Gold…
Whether you are looking for family classes or classes for your kids we’ve got you covered. In both cases we teach modified versions of our standard curriculum. The benefit to your kids is that as they get older they do not have to start over. We just review the material, refine it and add age appropriate finishing techniques.
The four individuals on the right in the picture below train every week with us. It’s a great opportunity to have fun as a family and to have built in training partners when you get home. This picture was taken after they were awarded rank for testing and passing material for a certain level.
Not Interested in Training Yourself? Bring Your Kids!
The kids you see in this picture have been with us for several years. We stress an environment where kids learn appropriate cooperative/competitive behavior.
When learning how to defend themselves our kids need cooperative resistance so that they are not frustrated. As they mature physically and mentally the amount of cooperation is reduced. This ensures the ability to perform the techniques under stress in real world situations.
We teach our students healthy competition. This revolves around the idea of pushing one’s self to hard, but towards achievable goals. This is not done at the expense of other students. The idea is that “a rising tide floats all boats.” While there are clearly students that excel in certain areas, everyone gets better as we all excel. It is common to have our beginner students teach new students to reinforce their learning and to help build confidence (under the guidance of the Instructor).
Each student brings a unique spirit to the school. We blend those into a dojo family that is very supportive of one another!
Our curriculum gives our students a well balanced variety of striking, kicks, ground techniques and weapons with which to defend themselves. We work on de-escalation and psychological techniques that will give our students every possible advantage in a conflict situation.
Our school has some of the latest most effective training gear to give our students the best possible training. We have throwing grade mats for safety when practicing falls and throws.
